General Care
Does the school care for the children? Is the lunch healthy and fresh? Does each class have a first-aid box? Do the classes have Air conditioning?
Yes! We at Pickle Bumps have enough adults to be on duty constantly.
The lunch and snacks menu has been prepared keeping in mind the age and nutritional importance of our children. The menu also keeps being changed according to the season and to allow variety.
We do have a first aid box which is updated at regular intervals.
All our classes have Air Conditioning and the temperature is monitored according to the comfort and safety of our children.
Qualified Teachers
All our teachers are Montessori Trained and well qualified with good experience in the same field.
Class Sizes
Ideally, our preschool classes have 15 or fewer children with the key teacher and an assistant along with two or more caregivers.
Image of Children
The key teacher and assistant speak of children as competent individuals who learn through play or as little children to be “filled” with information. The school and teachers have high expectations for each child and know their worth and value.
Quality of Artwork
One look at the children’s art will tell you heaps about the type of education your child is getting.
Planning
Although our preschool is all about play, it is not about a teacher sitting for 5 hours supervising children at play. The teacher plans play activities with a purpose.
During each school day, the teachers plan a movement activity, discussion ring, music activity, story-based activity, art activities,in accordance to the Montessori philosophy that we follow. The monthly theme is not the full extent of planning. Individual lessons are planned, along with the objectives for those lessons.
The Ratio of Adults to Children
If class sizes are larger, there are assistant staff either working in each class or floating amongst classes.
Stimulating Environment
It is obvious just by walking around the school that there is a lot of learning going on.You will see equipment and resources and children busy and engrossed in learning things. During playtime, the teachers take out all the equipment and allow free and safe playtime.The children have a variety of activities to choose from e.g. puzzles, games, playdough, a cutting and pasting table, blocks etc.
General Atmosphere
When you walk through the school, it feels like a happy place, with calm and content children. We make sure that the environment is a happy one.
